Day 2

Alrighty let's continue on. So for day two went ahead and cut out my bunker parts. As you can see from the pic it's actually dark out. The flood light was great to cut by... okay not so much, but it worked.

And the first all important cut...

I wanted a 6" x 9" bunker so by using a 2' x 2' board that's a 1/4" inch thick I got six 8 1/2" walls, six 6" walls, four 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" floors, and assorted pieces to basically slide the level above into the base floor below it.

We glued on the "guide" pieces which also doubles as our floor support and clamped them to dry and moved on to the Dragon's teeth on the big piece of terrain. Using corks and wood glue we made a nice perimeter around the command bunker. We also last minute glued on the bottom floor and the rear wall to the bunker (no pics of that) we almost made the mistake of putting the entire first floor on but realized, we still have to cut out the firing slits in the bunker.

So now we wait for the glue to dry and we'll continue tomorrow with cutting the firing slits and assembling the base of the bunker and pillboxes, also hopefully getting the basing material on the whole thing as well. Stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by. The tricky part is going to cut the firing slits into the wood I think. And I hope the removable levels work out well.
